UK National Minimum Wage

From October 2016 the UK national minimum wage thresholds are as follows:

  1. Apprentices £3.40
  2. Under 18 £4.00
  3. 18 – 20 years old £5.55
  4. 21-24 years old £6.95
  5. 25 and over £7.20

Who can get the minimum wage?

Most adult workers who:

  • are working legally in the UK
  • are not genuinely self-employed
  • have a written, oral or implied contract
