From April 2023 the UK national minimum wage thresholds are as follows:

  1. Apprentices £5.28
  2. Under 18 £5.28
  3. 18 – 20 years old £7.49
  4. 21-22 years old £10.18
  5. 23 and over £10.42

Daily Accommodation Offset Rates

Daily Accommodation Offset £9.10

Weekly Accommodation Offset £63.70

(if an employee is given accommodation by an employer, free or paid, it can affect what the employee is paid)

Who can get the minimum wage?

Most adult workers who:

  • are working legally in the UK
  • are not genuinely self-employed
  • have a written, oral or implied contract
