Hi Liska, I will send more info as soon as we are ready to go. No need to get the book, though the online exam will be based on the principles it teaches, so you may want to get it for revision purposes.

Great choice for going with the IAB. They are accredited by OfQual, the UK Government body responsible for Qualifications, and that is priceless.

Dear Quentin
Very interested to hear that your course will be AIB accredited – can I have more information and will I have to purchase a copy of your book as part of the course? I have attended a computerised book keeping course and worked through part of your course on line. I have decided that would like to go on to become fully qualified so your AIB course is of great interest to me – especially if I can work through it on line.

Hi Barry, thanks for visiting and taking the time to comment. This site is all about help with bookkeeping. What you are after is some fund tracking software. There is plenty of it out there. Try a search in Google for starters. Then I would join some of the many forums and see what people have to say.

Regarding your business. If you have it all wrapped up in Excel, then that is great. With only a few transactions, perhaps the only advantage in using software would be the online submission service. But you can still do that manually.

Hi Quentin

I have a very low volume, but high fees business and so make do standard sales ledger, purchase ledger and cash book in Excel and then hand it acroass to my accountant once a year, so I am not sure if your package will offer me any advantage. I am also on fixed-rate vat. However, my issue is our domestic accounts and tracking not only expenditure (as we move into retirement), but also asset tracking, (source & application of funds?), analysis and management – cash, shares, bonds, funds etc, as well as building buy/hold/sell decision-making criteria. How will your software help with this please? Do you have a functional spec. I can study? Thanks.
