I just came across a great little search engine called shablast.com. With many searches these days you tend to get a lot of spammy sites appear. This is something Google and the rest of the bunch have been trying to remove for years, but the scammers out there keep staying one jump ahead.

The problem is that if you create a site stuffed with keywords and keyword related content, then create thousands of spammy links to the site via forums, social networks, article marketing and many other different methods, it can fool search engines into thinking that the site is an ‘authority’ site. So search engines keep tweaking their algorithms to try to remove them.

And after all that, it still fails. So along comes www.shablast.com, who use Bing as the basis for their searches, and change the ball game. They find the top sites found by Bing for your search term, then, and this is the brilliant bit, compare those top sites with eachother to see which contains the most information that all the found sites agree is relevant! In other words, which sites have the most content that relates to all the other found sites. It then lists those in order.

I found sites relevant to my subject, Bookkeeping, that all the other search engines failed to pinpoint. Brilliant. So good I thought I should share it with you
